I did the exact same thing for the directions to a tee and my deck looks awful peeling every where like I never did it. Oh and cannot seem to get anyone at rustoleum tp talk to me about it. I will never use rustoleum product again.

    To whom it may concern,

My name is David Yankowsky and I live at 42 Merryman Rd. in Glenburn, ME 04401. I purchased a five gallon bucket of Rustoleum Restore Deck and Concrete last fall at Home Depot in Bangor, ME. My wife was against it because it was expensive. I assured her that she would be pleased with the finished product. I had seen the displays in the store and seen other advertisements for it. I chose the redwood tint, bought the recommended roller, and a new roller handle.

I had just shut down the pool at the end of September 2013. The weather that week was perfect with the temperature being between 60-65 with clear skies. I followed the instructions and even waited a whole day between applications. Nobody even walked on it for a week after. My wife and I were very pleased with the result. She admitted that I had made the right choice. Not something that happens very often.

The deck was not used during the winter so there was no shoveling or scraping of any kind. Nobody even walked on it from the end of October to this May after the snow melted. Immediately after, we started noticing that it was starting to peel. Every day after, it only got worse. I am very discouraged with what is happening to the deck. At this point, I will have to scrap up what is left and start over. I am thinking of just going with some type of colored waterproof stain. I have taken pictures if some are requested.

I am not usually one to complain but felt that you would want to know that this had happened. Thank you very much for your time.

we have a multi level older deck. Did everything instructed on 1/2 of deck and spent a lot on product. It is peeling off on unused areas and high traffic areas. How do you take it off. The benches are too rough to sit on with out cover and barefoot is out of the question.
